ICSSR (New Dehli) Sponsored National Seminar on 28th March, 2019 on the topic Informal Employment in India: Issues and Challenges

 

Papers can be submitted on the following Sub-Themes

I. Informal Employment Conceptual and Theoretical Frame Work

  • Informal Economy, Global, regional and sub regional perspectives of informal employment
  • Casual, regular, contractual, self-employed, Rural and urban informal employment.
  • International Labor Organization (ILO), NSSO , CSO and NCEUS

II. Impact of Economic Reforms on Informal Employment

  • Distress labor Migration, Working poverty & inequalities
  • Labor market distress, Females work participation
  • Growth of informal enterprises, in formalization of employment.

III. Occupational Categories of Workers & Conditions of Employment

  • Street Vendors, Home based workers. Construction Workers
  • Informal service workers : Rural & Urban
  • Rural Farm & non-farm workers etc

IV. Policy Measures to Promote Decent Work & inclusive development

  • Social protection, financial inclusion, skill development
  • Formalization of informal enterprises & employment,
  • Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.

Note: The above sub-themes are indicative but not exhaustive; papers could be submitted on any aspect related to the theme.

Posters of 1 meter x 1 meter can also be contributed preferably on flex sheets on any of the above said subthemes.(Delegates are allowed to submit either paper or poster but not both)

Guidelines to the Paper writers:

  • Times New Roman, Font size 12, single line spacing , full paper not more than 3000 words.
  • References pattern should be as per Economic and Political Weekly journal style or APA style.
  • Not more than three delegates are allowed to submit one paper.
  • If a delegate submits more than one paper, only one paper will be finalized by the organizing committee.
  • Paper should be original and not presented or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • Indicate sub-theme of your paper, preceding the title of the paper along with a short description of author(s) Email Id, Contact Number, Institute, etc.
  • An attempt will be made to publish selected papers in book form with ISBN number.

Important Deadlines:

Last Date of Paper Submission : 28th February, 2019
Intimation of Paper Acceptance : 5th March,2019
